For parents
Every player here is treated as a kid. This page explains, in plain language, how friends and chat work and what keeps them safe.
💬 Messages
- Messages only happen between friends. Both players have to accept each other before they can type to each other.
- Every message is checked for safety before it's delivered — by an automatic safety filter and an AI safety reviewer. Messages that fail are never shown to anyone.
- No links, phone numbers, addresses, emails, photos or social-media names can be sent. There are no picture or file uploads at all.
- Players who aren't friends can only use pre-written phrases like "Good game!" and friendly emoji.
👥 Friends
- Players add friends by typing an exact username. There's no list of strangers to browse.
- Players without a free account (guests) can play, but can't add friends, send messages or get notifications.
- Usernames are checked by the same safety filter, so names can't contain bad words, phone numbers or birth years.
- Notifications on a phone or computer are off until the player turns them on, and they never include what a message says.
🔗 Invite links
- A player with a free account can make an invite link to the game they're in, to send to someone they know. Whoever opens it joins that game, or watches if it's full.
- Opening a link never makes anyone a friend. Players who aren't friends can only use quick-chat (pre-written phrases) with each other.
- Links stop working after 24 hours, and the player who made one (or the game's host) can turn it off at any time. Blocked players can't use each other's links.
🏆 Tournaments
- Players with a free account can start a tournament: a bracket of one-on-one games. Its name goes through the same safety filter as usernames, and making them is limited to a few a day.
- An open tournament is listed on the site, so anyone (guests too) can sign up and be matched with someone they don't know. Those matches use the game's usual rules: players who aren't friends can only use quick-chat, and nobody is added as a friend.
- A closed tournament is seen only by the friends its maker invited, or by someone holding its invite link.
- Players who have blocked each other are never put in the same tournament or match.
- Reminders ("your match is ready", "it starts in 10 minutes") only go to players who signed up or chose to follow that tournament, and phone notifications stay off unless the player turned them on.
🚩 Reporting and blocking
- Every message, player and game idea has a Report button. Reports are reviewed by a real person.
- Block is one tap: it removes the friend and stops all messages, friend requests and invites between the two players.
- Players who keep trying to send things that aren't allowed are paused from typing automatically. Accounts that break the rules can be suspended.
🔒 Parent chat lock
You can limit an account to quick-chat only (pre-written phrases and emoji). With the lock on, your child can't send or receive typed messages — any chat they're part of switches to phrases for everyone.
- Open the game menu (the button in the corner of any game).
- Go to Friends → You.
- Turn on 🔒 Quick-chat only (parent lock).
Turning the lock on takes one tap. Turning it off needs the account's password, so keep the password somewhere your child can't see it.
